A Detective Called Me ...

Card image cap

Location: Florida

A detective called me and asked me about a crime that was done allegedly in the car i drive ( a family members car who it is registered to , it was given to me to drive locally to pick up kids etc ) allegedly the person accused of the alleged crime took the car without my knowledge in the hours normal people should be sleeping around 2-4am to commit the alleged crime.. The detective also spoke with the owner of the car as well , asked if there was anything seen in the car that was unusual etc. While on the phone with the detective , he sent me pictures of the alleged criminal getting in and out of the car , asked me to confirm if that is the person and the car . At the end of our conversation he asked me to come down to the station to "speak " with him further and to also bring the car that the alleged crime was done in . which i agreed on a set day and time because I don't have a record nor do i know anything about this alleged crime , so in my head i would be doing a good deed by going down there , prove my innocence and go home . But after doing research online , it's making me question the detectives true motives . If you have pictures of the alleged person doing the alleged crime what do they need me for ? Especially after i already spoke with him on the phone , what else could there be to talk about ? I cannot afford a lawyer but i don't think i need one because again i have no knowledge of this alleged crime , can i call him back and cancel the sit down ? if i do that will that make me look like i am hiding something ?
