12 Year Old Daughter Had A Complaint Filed Against Her With School District
Location: Massachusetts. I can't even believe I am having to type this. I got a call today from someone in the district's superintendent's office that apparently, another student Mother, filed a complaint against my daughter. The nature of the complaint is this:
It is alleging that (my daughter) made a boy feel uncomfortable by staring at him multiple times during a sports game, 6 months ago. It is indicated that this behavior was ongoing.
I don't understand why this complaint is being filed six months after the fact, and I'm really not understanding how it can be proven.
I guess I am asking how I should handle this and what I should say in this meeting. I feel that if they interview other students, there is a chance that they could have been coached by this attorney mother. And most importantly-what exactly could come of this? I know there's no way that this could be cause for expulsion, it just can't be. I don't even think it could/should be considered bullying or harassment. There weren't even any words said. I'm not denying the possibility that she gave him dirty looks, but I mean honestly...this is just absurd and too much. It’s also worth mentioning that this woman is an attorney, because of course she is!
I obviously know to tell my daughter to stay the hell away from him, and I’m going to get in touch with the school to tell them to make sure they have zero classes together. I’m just curious about how this meeting it going to go.
