[tx] Landlord Telling Me To Pay Their Electric Service Deposit After I Started Service In My Name.

Location: Texas
To start, when my roommates and I moved in, they were under the impression that we would be paying our landlord for utilities. 11 days into the lease our landlord informed us that we were meant to get utilities in our name (which we promptly did). This was an oversight on our part and the lease is pretty clear that:
“If you delay getting service turned on in your name by the Lease’s start date or cause it to be transferred back into our name before you surrender or abandon the dwelling, you’ll be liable for the charge listed above (not to exceed $50 per billing period), plus the actual or estimated cost of the utilities used while the utility should have been billed to you.”
Now the landlord is putting a $415 bill in front of us. When we asked about how it was so high for 11 days (when our service has been about $7 a day), he said that there was a $200 deposit included in the bill. The lease also says:
“You must pay all applicable provider fees, including any fees to change service back into our name after you move out.”
In the same section as the other excerpt. This language is somewhat confusing, so part of me thinks we are on the hook for the deposit and part of me doesn’t.
Any advice here would be greatly appreciated. We are currently trying to get the landlord to send us an itemized bill with dates and usage.
