[co] Cannot File For Divorce For 3 Months, Can I Get A Tenant To Help With Finances?

Location: Colorado.
Military, 2 young minor children. I have both kids, spouse remained at previous duty station (South Carolina). Jurisdiction can't be established until late winter. "Light" domestic violence that was documented by police in previous state but no charges. high amounts of control over financials/financial infidelity by spouse that made leaving incredibly difficult. Took a year of planning with the domestic abuse hotline.
I bought this house with intention of it being my forever home, spouse is on the deed. He agreed to never step for in this house, and is going to house hunt/sell our old house shortly.
This house is 4k sq ft with a MIL suite. I'm thinking about getting a tenant to help with finances. I've heard you shouldn't do it while going through a divorce, but we haven't filed and can't for another few months. Technically, still married. I won't do anything that will jeopardize my future case, but anxious about my earning power.
