Solinity, Hawaiian Legacy partner to launch community development

Solinity announced it has partnered with Hawaiian Legacy to launch a new home care agency and develop a senior living community in O’ahu, Hawaii.

Financing and development plans for the community are currently underway, and it will be co-developed by Hawaiian Legacy and managed by Solinity for support.

Hawaiian Legacy Home Care opened earlier this summer and was founded by Hawaiian Legacy Home Care, according to a press release.

“We’re proud to take our purpose-driven approach to senior living development to the islands of Hawaii,” Josh Crisp, founder and CEO of Solinity, said in the release. “Jacob and Lindsay represent the heart, vision, and commitment it takes to serve with excellence, and we’re honored to support the launch of Hawaiian Legacy as they care for the community they know and love.”

Garden Spot, Harristown Enterprises announce new conversion

Garden Spot Communities announced it has formed a joint venture with Harristown Enterprises and Select Capital Commercial Properties to convert a historic eight-story building into 39 independent living apartments.

The project will be targeted towards 55+ active adults and includes a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments. Construction began in early July and is expected to take around one year to complete, according to a press release.

The acquisition and conversion of the property is expected to cost around $10 million. AP Williams is serving as general contractor and By Design as architect, with Mid-Penn Bank financing for the project, the release states.

“This is a spectacular location near the Riverfront for this unique project and we look forward to showcasing this wonderful new apartment complex with our partners at Garden Spot to highlight the many assets of living in downtown Harrisburg,” Brad Jones, president and CEO of Harristown, said in the release.

United Church Homes receives security upgrade grant

United Church Homes announced its The Parkvue Community on Catawba Island community has been named the recipient of a $3,500 grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation.

The funding will be used to install a new exterior security system to the community.

“With this grant, we are taking a vital step toward protecting some of the most vulnerable members of our community,” Gloria Hurwitz, United Church Homes vice president of advancement, said in a press release. “We are deeply grateful to the Ottawa County Community Foundation for recognizing the importance of this effort and supporting our mission to help older adults live safely and independently.”

The total cost of the project is $4,700, and includes the purchase and installation of a network video recorder, hard drive and five exterior network cameras, which will provide “real-time monitoring, help prevent security threats and support faster emergency response times,” the release states.

Goodwin Living celebrates newest sales center opening

Faith-based nonprofit senior living provider Goodwin Living celebrated the completion of Goodwin House Seminary Road with a ribbon cutting on Aug. 27.

The community itself is slated to open in Alexandria’s West End in 2029, bringing 250 jobs to the surrounding area, according to a press release.

The community is set to cost $340 million to develop, and is reported to be “one of the largest development investments in the area,” the release states. It will feature 257 apartments, two towers and an open air landscaped plaza on a three story podium connecting the towers.

The sales center “offers a first look at the vision for Goodwin House Seminary Road,” with “immersive design elements and high-definition digital renderings of the campus, amenities and nature-integrated architecture,” the release states.
