Watch: Mike Huckabee Slaps The Bass For Israel-themed Remix Of ‘sweet Home Alabama’ In Cringeworthy Performance

United States Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee showed off his bass talents by taking part in an odd remix of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama.

Huckabee and former U.S. ambassador to Israel David Friedman took to the stage on Saturday in Jerusalem to play a version of “Sweet Home Alabama” called “Sweet Home Yerushalayim” (Hebrew for Jerusalem). The original “Sweet Home Alabama” was released in 1974.

Huckabee’s performance took place at the annual United Hatzalah’s Sukkot concert. The event was held to celebrate Israel and the recent peace deal between the country and Hamas.

Huckabee is a longtime bass player. He would often bring his guitar out and slap the bass with musical guests and his house band, the Little Rockers, on his former Fox News show.

The lyrics of Skynyrd’s song were reworked from musings about America’s South to Israel, which included a dig at the United Nations and praise of President Donald Trump.

Well France and friends don’t think it’s Jewish. The United Nations call us crooks. But Donald Trump claims it’s all Israel. Just as it says in all the holy books.

In a Fox Business interview, Huckabee called the current peace deal an “incredible triumph” for Trump after “two years of hell.”

“Let’s give all the credit to President Trump,” he said. “This would have never happened had he not been in the White House and had he not had the ability to engineer this deal.”
