Navigating Outgrowing Friendships And Considering A Move To Focus On My Goals
Hey everyone, I’m a 21-year-old student at university, and I’ve been really grinding on building my own business rather than just following the typical nine-to-five path. I think I’m hitting a turning point where things are getting serious. I’ve always been a bit of a workhorse, helping my family business since I was a teenager, and now I’m trying to create something of my own.
Lately, though, I’ve felt kind of out of sync with my friends. They’re great people, but our conversations are mostly about what happened last weekend or just stuff that doesn’t align with where I’m headed. I find myself feeling a bit guilty or annoyed because I’m just not as interested in those topics anymore, and I’m really focusing on my long-term goals.
I actually spoke to my academic advisor and found out I can finish my last year online. So I’m considering going home for the summer, working for my family a bit, and then moving somewhere new where I can really focus on building my own path. I know it might be lonely at first, but I think it could help me get out of the chaotic environment and become the person I want to be.
So I’d love to hear from anyone who’s gone through something similar. How did you handle outgrowing friendships, and do you have any advice on taking that leap to focus on your goals? Thanks in advance!
