Utah Cops Pulled Over A $1.1m Aston Martin Prototype For “burning Up The Road”
- Police stop prototype $1.1M Aston Martin speeding on Interstate 70.
- Sheriff’s Office claims the exotic car was “burning up” the highway.
- It remains unclear if the test driver received a ticket or a warning.
You never know what a day on patrol might bring, especially when your beat runs through some of the most scenic stretches of highway in the American West. For deputies with the Emery County Sheriff’s Office in Utah, that unpredictability recently took the form of an Aston Martin that starts from around £850,000 or $1.12 million at current exchange rates.
The hypercar in question is a unique Valhalla prototype in the midst of testing. According to authorities, the police gave the driver some tips on driving etiquette.

The incident happened near Green River, Utah, around 90 minutes from Grand Junction, Colorado, and it’s a section of I-70 known for light traffic and stunning vistas.
Why Did They Stop It?
Police say that the Aston Martin was “burning up the road” through the county. Authorities didn’t release any information on exactly what that means in terms of miles per hour.
They did say that other motorists called in a complaint about the car driving recklessly. ECSO Deputy Dylan Keele and UHP Trooper Dakota Adams ultimately made contact with the car. T
he driver reportedly said he was testing and adjusting the vehicle, which makes perfect sense. Based on the photos provided by the Sheriff’s office, it’s easy to see things like the stickers on the front and rear denoting that this vehicle has a high-voltage plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Power To Spare
The Valhalla features a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 and a trio of electric motors. It makes up to 1,065 horsepower and 811 lb-ft (1,099 Nm) of torque. Put another way, if it had wanted to run, it probably could’ve gapped the police cars quite quickly. That said, the interaction was evidently a cordial one.
“Deputy Keele was able to instruct the driver on proper driving etiquette and take care of some business. It was a fun experience for the cops,” police said.
It’s unclear if they issued any kind of ticket to the driver. It’s also unclear if perhaps this is more than an everyday Valhalla prototype. Production is already underway, so it would be a little odd to see Aston Martin still dialing the car in. Of course, maybe this is something more than meets the eye.
