ATLANTA – Officials of Woodworth Core Group (WCG), a leading provider of customized lodging research, valuation and advisory services, announced that John B. “Jack” Corgel and John H. Longstreet have been named senior advisors to the firm.

WCG Principal R. Mark Woodworth said, “We continue to focus on providing seasoned expertise to our clients.  The addition of Jack and John to our team strengthens our bench and enhances our capabilities in areas such as econometric forecasting, applied research, litigation and dispute resolution, organizational development and strategic planning services. When we started the firm, we set out to establish a strong advisory foundation focused on an expert understanding of lodging industry fundamentals, asset management capabilities and solid research practices and methods.  John and Jack coming aboard gives us additional tools and support to better serve our clients.”

Jack Corgel is Professor Emeritus in the Nolan School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. He previously held the Robert C. Baker Chair in Real Estate at Cornell and served as director of graduate studies for the Baker Program in Real Estate. He was the first director of the Center for Hospitality Research at the Hotel School. After receiving undergraduate and PhD degrees in real estate and corporate finance from the University of Georgia, he held faculty positions in several business schools at major universities before joining Cornell.

Corgel was senior research advisor to CBRE Hotels Research (previously PKF Hospitality Research), where he helped the firm develop products for the hotel industry based on property-level financial and real estate performance information, including Hotel Horizons econometric forecast of U.S. hotel market performance.  Since retiring from Cornell and CBRE, Corgel formed Cordial Hotel Property Research to serve clients that require econometric forecasting, litigation support and various analytical services.

John Longstreet is the founder and partner of Hospitality Leaders Group, LLC, specializing in CEO coaching, organizational development, leadership effectiveness, cultural alignment and strategic planning.  Recently, he served as the president & CEO of the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association (PRLA), where he successfully navigated the association and the industry through the challenges posed by the pandemic.  The PRLA represents Pennsylvania’s 26,000 restaurants, 1,500 hotels and 50 destination marketing organizations, promoting, protecting and enhancing the hospitality and tourism industry within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and beyond.

Longstreet’s career in the hospitality industry began as a short-order cook and progressed through various roles, including executive chef, catering director, general manager, corporate executive and CEO.  He has authored nearly 200 articles on leadership, service and other subjects.
