The Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder have played three thrilling games so far in their NBA playoffs series, so it definitely came as a shock when they started Game 4 with a historic low.

In Game 1, the Nuggets beat the Thunder, 121-119, thanks to an Aaron Gordon game-winner just before time expired. Then in Game 2, Oklahoma City showed why it was the best team in the 2024-25 regular season, blowing out Denver, 149-106.

In Game 3, the Nuggets and Thunder needed overtime to settle the contest, with Nikola Jokic and Co. eventually coming out on top after outscoring OKC 11-2 in the extra period.

Come Game 4, however, the two teams went viral for the wrong reason. Instead of playing an intense battle, the Nuggets and Thunder struggled to shoot the ball en route to an unwanted NBA record.

Denver scored just eight points in the first quarter of Game 4, shooting 2-of-22 from the field as the Nuggets missed all 14 of their 3-point attempts. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City scored just 17 points.

The combined total of 25 points for the Nuggets and Thunder is "tied for the lowest in any first quarter in postseason history," according to SportsCenter.

Sure enough, plenty of fans were left disappointed by how the game started. Others offered their theories about why both teams struggled early on, pinning the blame on commissioner Adam Silver and the NBA.

"This game low-key sucks," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "Historic game of who can miss the most."

"Yeah. We suck. We get it. Carry on," a viewer added.

A fan stated, "The NBA scheduling is crazy. It's not even 48 hours. Athletes need at least 48 hours to recover. Everyone looks tired."

"Nice of the league to essentially make this a playoff back to back game, this is the result," a fifth follower remarked.

The two squads played better in the second quarter, with Denver scoring 28 and Oklahoma City dropping 25. Despite that, however, the first quarter they played will go down in history for being one of the worst performances in the NBA postseason.
