Ultrahuman has released a major software upgrade to Ultrahuman Home, turning the device into one of the most advanced sleep monitors on the market.
The update includes snore and cough detection, a redesigned Respiratory Health Score and deeper environmental insights, all rolling out to existing users this week. New units are available now on Ultrahuman.com and Amazon.
Ultrahuman Home is built for people who want detailed sleep insights without wearing a ring, watch or band. It tracks sleep for anyone in the room and breaks down how light exposure, temperature changes, CO2, air quality, humidity and noise patterns influence rest.
A new AI sound engine, trained on more than 500 audio signatures, can distinguish snoring, coughing, breathing irregularities and baby cries from external sounds like sirens or barking dogs, mapping disruptions directly to each event inside the app.
The biggest addition is the expanded respiratory stack. Using dual precision microphones and AI-driven event detection, Ultrahuman Home identifies snoring intensity, cough frequency and irregular breathing to generate a nightly Respiratory Health Score. With nearly one billion adults affected by obstructive sleep apnea worldwide (most of them undiagnosed) the feature is designed to help users notice early changes and understand how nighttime breathing impacts recovery, cognition and long-term health. All microphone data can be turned off with a physical switch, and recordings can be deleted permanently; the system remains HIPAA- and GDPR-compliant.
In December, Ultrahuman will add smart home automation, allowing the device to adjust lighting, purifiers, thermostats and HVAC systems automatically based on real-time environmental signals. “Matter” compatibility is on the roadmap for smoother integration across Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa ecosystems.
Ultrahuman Home is priced at $399 and is currently $208 off through Dec 1 as part of the company’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotion.
