Tee Higgins Speaks Out On Celebration Fine From Nfl

The Cincinnati Bengals are off to a red-hot 2-0 start and will look to add a third win on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The defense has been lights out for the Bengals, but the offense has been slow to get fully going. Despite the offense not being up to par, the unit has done enough to win games, and that is all that matters.

Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase have done what they always do through the first two weeks, but they have been doing a celebration after each first down/touchdown that has caught the eyes of Bengals fans…

Well, that celebration has officially come to an end after the two of them were fined by the NFL for nearly $90,000.

Each fine is $14,926, so Higgins must now pay $59,704 total. Chase received two separate fines totaling $29,852, bringing the total fine for the star wideouts to $89,556.

Higgins recently appeared on the Kay Adams Show and defended himself.

“I’m a fan of WWE, the people’s elbow, and we just threw in a first down celebration with it,” Higgins explained. “Unfortunately, we did get the letter. Everybody on the internet is making it seem like something that it isn’t.”

Chase also shared his thoughts on the fines during his weekly press conference.

“I think this is where the superstars have to get in with the NFLPA and fight for our money. I can’t really do much about it. We could complain. I don’t even think we can tweet about it because we get fined for tweeting about it. So, it’s really like players have to keep their mouths shut and deal with it. But we’ve got to have a superstar in the NFLPA to do something about it. Help us along the way.”

The celebration was fun for a few weeks, but Tee says they will have a new one for Sunday.
