Steelers Bring Back Veteran Center
The Steelers have re-signed center Ryan McCollum to a one-year deal, the team announced Friday.

McCollum has been with the Steelers since 2022. He was on and off the team’s practice squad at first but over the last two seasons has found a role as a special teams lineman and starting center Zach Frazier’s backup. Across 2024 and 2025, McCollum appeared in 34 games and made three starts for the black and gold.
The 6’5, 300-pound lineman went undrafted in 2021 out of Texas A&M, spending time with the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions before landing in Pittsburgh.
McCollum entered the 2026 offseason as a restricted free agent, but the Steelers did not tender him. However, the two sides were able to come to an agreement on a contract later in the process. The details of McCollum’s deal have not been announced.
McCollum joins Spencer Anderson as Pittsburgh’s top depth on the interior offensive line. Pittsburgh has yet to add a clear starter at left guard this offseason.
