Shedeur Sanders Roasted After Rough Start At Browns Rookie Minicamp

Shedeur Sanders enters his first practice with the Cleveland Browns with a lot to prove, but instead came under fire for a rough early moment that caught some viral attention.
Sanders was once seen as a potential Top 5 pick in the recently concluded NFL draft, but instead fell all the way to the fifth round before being selected by the Browns. He will face some stiff competition from veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett and started minicamp below fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel on the depth chart.
The former Colorado quarterback got the first chance to prove himself at Friday's start of rookie minicamp, with reports that he put together an overall strong performance. But it was one bad pass that caught the most attention, with many sharing video of the ball fluttering out of Sanders' hand after he struggled to take the snap on his first pass attempt of the day.
Though the ball was ultimately caught on the sidelines, many fans roasted Sanders for the difficult attempt.

"What a lob throw," one fan shared in a post on X.
"Yikes. Glad the Steelers didn't draft this bum," another wrote.
Many other fans noted that Sanders made the most out of the play after a bad snap and poor blocking from the offensive line, noting that he was still able to complete the pass -- even if it did come out a bit ugly.
Sanders had plenty of other good moments, including a touchdown pass to end the day.

Some reporters at minicamp noted that Sanders appeared to outplay Gabriel on the first day, though both have a long way to go during training camp and the preseason to earn a place on the depth chart.
