Saints Vs. Raiders Predictions: Bring The Noise

After opening the season with back-to-back road games, the New Orleans Saints finally return to Caesars Superdome on Sunday, looking to build on their first win of the season.

New Orleans enters Week 3 with a 1-1 record following a 24-17 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Raiders arrive in New Orleans undefeated at 2-0 under first-year head coach and former Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

Sunday’s matchup presents an opportunity for the Saints to build some early-season momentum, but it won’t come easy against a Raiders team that has gotten off to a strong start.

Through the first two weeks, Tyler Shough has given Saints fans plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

After throwing for 410 yards and three touchdowns in the season-opening overtime loss to Detroit, Shough followed up with another solid performance against Baltimore, completing 27 of 34 passes and scoring the go-ahead touchdown on the ground. His connection with wide receiver Chris Olave has already proven to be one of New Orleans’ biggest offensive weapons, and the Saints will need that chemistry again Sunday.

However, protecting Shough could be a major concern. With left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. out indefinitely with an ankle injury, New Orleans must find a way to contain Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby, who is capable of disrupting an offense on his own.

One of the biggest storylines surrounding Sunday’s matchup is the return of Klint Kubiak, who served as the Saints’ offensive coordinator in 2024. Kubiak has led Las Vegas to a 2-0 start, with veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins leading an offense that has shown it can make big plays. Cousins threw three touchdown passes in the Raiders’ 26-14 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2, while wide receiver Tre Tucker racked up 119 receiving yards.

New Orleans showed improvement defensively against Baltimore, particularly in the second half. The Saints will need another strong performance, especially when it comes to pressuring Cousins and preventing explosive plays.

The biggest difference this week is that New Orleans will have a very loud and proud home crowd behind them.

Prediction: Saints 34 – Raiders 27

You can expect this one to be another entertaining matchup, with both offenses finding ways to put points on the board. But finally playing in the dome for the first time this season will give the Saints an extra spark, and I think they will make enough plays in the fourth quarter to hand the Raiders their first loss of the season.
