Oilers Share Wordless Post After Game 2 Win Vs. Golden Knights

Following another dramatic comeback victory, this time 5-4 in overtime of Game 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights, the Edmonton Oilers took to social media with a wordless post.
The content the franchise used was a simple, looping GIF of Leon Draisaitl holding a hand-written sign that read, “Play La Bamba.”
The post needed no caption for some, but casual fans might not understand the meaning behind it.
First popularized in the dressing room by the late Oilers' staffer Joey Moss and later adopted as a rallying cry for young superfan Ben Stelter, the Los Lobos cover of La Bamba has become their post-win anthem and is played after every home win.

Draisaitl provided the winner Thursday night in Las Vegas, one-timing a feed from Connor McDavid at 15:20 of overtime.
Edmonton had blown leads of 3-1 and 4-2 during regulation and failed to convert a five-minute major earlier in OT, but closed the game with their stars combining on the decisive goal.

The Golden Knights found the net by way of Victor Olofsson twice, William Karsson, and Alex Pietrangelo, the latter forcing overtime with a little over eight minutes left in regulation.
With the win, the Oilers extended their postseason win streak to six and took a 2-0 series lead into Saturday’s Game 3 at Rogers Place, where La Bamba is sure to play again.
