Kristaps Porzingis Drops 30 In Best Game Yet As A Warrior
In today’s Dub Hub:
- Kristaps Porzingis scores 30 points as Warriors defeat Wizards, 125–117.
- Steve Kerr becomes the 28th head coach in NBA history to reach 600 career wins.
- NBA owners to vote on potential Las Vegas–Seattle expansion, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Kristaps Porzingis delivered his best performance yet in a Golden State Warriors uniform, leading them to a 125–117 win over the Washington Wizards on Monday night.
Porzingis was impressive in his 26 minutes off the bench, scoring 30 points on an efficient 8-of-13 shooting from the field while going 13-of-14 from the free-throw line. He consistently put pressure on the defense with his size and skill, getting to his spots and living at the line whenever Washington tried to contain him.

But it wasn’t just the scoring. Porzingis made his presence felt all over the floor, finishing with five rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals. Whether it was protecting the rim, disrupting passing lanes, or facilitating offense, he impacted the game on both ends — something the Warriors desperately needed as they snapped their five-game losing streak.
For a Warriors team searching for stability amid a wave of injuries, this performance was an encouraging step forward. Yes, it came against a Wizards team that just last week allowed the Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo to score 83 points, but performances like this still highlight what Porzingis can bring when healthy. If he continues to build on this as his minutes increase, Golden State may have found another significant piece to support its postseason push — especially once Stephen Curry returns.
Porzingis said his energy “is getting a lot better” the more he plays.

“Still only 25, almost 26 minutes, but obviously was the best feeling so far. Either each game, I would say it’s improving.”

Kristaps Porziņģis, De’Anthony Melton give Warriors fans a night to dream in win | NBC Sports Bay Area
Porziņģis and Melton combined for 57 points, exploiting the generosity of the Washington Wizards during a 125-117 victory that not only snapped Golden State’s five-game losing streak but also stirred fanciful visions throughout the forlorn avenues of Dub Nation.
What if . . . the Warriors can bring Porziņģis and Melton back next season?
This question will remain a “what if” until July. That’s when Porziņģis, who is making $30.7 million this season, becomes an unrestricted free agent and Melton declines the $3.5 million player option on his 2026-27 contract with the Warriors.
Warriors’ Steve Kerr becomes NBA’s 28th coach to reach 600 regular-season wins | The Athletic
After the game, Kerr reflected on the players and coaches who helped him reach this point.
“I owe, I guess the honor, to incredible talent and a great organization,” Kerr said after the game. “To work for the Warriors, to be part of this group, amazing group of people, that Joe Lacob and Peter Guber put together, just to be a part of this, I’m so blessed. Most organizations are not this strong and this aligned. I’m very, very lucky.”

NBA News:
Sources: NBA set for 1st vote in Las Vegas-Seattle expansion | ESPN
This marks the first of multiple critical steps toward NBA expansion. This first vote will allow the league to focus on Las Vegas and Seattle and have a bidding process for the teams. There will then be a potential final vote later in the year to finalize the transactions to 32 teams. In both voting rounds, 23 of 30 governors must vote in favor.
A growing number of owners are believed to support expansion because of the long-term revenue growth for the league from the Las Vegas and Seattle markets. Some owners remain hesitant on selling some of their shares and having their league equity go from 1/30 to 1/32, and want to see the final valuations of the bids plus the individual franchise fees before deciding whether to expand now or in a few more years.

Warriors vs. Wizards player grades: Kristaps Porziņģis dominates
De’Anthony Melton
30 minutes, 27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 3 turnovers, 12-for-17 shooting, 0-for-2 threes, 3-for-3 free throws, 73.7% TS, +10
A sensational showing by Melton. He didn’t play during the team’s loss on Monday to the New York Knicks, and in the first quarter, he was fittingly the only Warriors player who seemed to have his full legs. He brought much-needed energy until his teammates could catch up, and then he started to take over in the third quarter when the rest of the offense stagnated. He scored in double figures in that frame, which included a tantalizing poster dunk.
Hopefully Steph Curry can get back on the court soon, because I desperately want to see him playing alongside this version of Melton.
