Jets Wr Garrett Wilson Appears To Have Avoided Serious Knee Injury: Report

Jets star wide receiver Garrett Wilson underwent an MRI that reportedly indicated he did not sustain a serious knee injury during Sunday's 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos in London.
ESPN's Rich Cimini reported on Monday that while the imaging overall revealed good news, Wilson will probably still miss some time. ESPN's Adam Schefter added later that Wilson hyperextended his knee but, citing one source, reported the WR is expected to miss "a couple of weeks."
The receiver caught three passes for 13 yards on eight targets in the game.
Head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed earlier on Monday that Wilson was dealing with a knee injury and said he would have an update when he next speaks to the media on Wednesday.
“I don’t really want to speak on that right now, to be honest with you, because I just don’t know what it is,” the head coach said. “I’ll be able to let you know on Wednesday, but it’s always a concern when you lose one of your better plays, I will say that.”
After the game, Glenn said that Wilson "had a couple things that happened" during the game, but the wideout was able to play through them. Wilson was in on the Jets' final drive and was targeted on the penultimate play, but was unable to hang on to a pass from Justin Fields that would have gone for a first down.
Wilson said on Sunday that he underwent a "light X-ray" after the game. "We just lost and, obviously, trying to finish the game, so I'm all right," he said.
The Jets have two games before the Week 9 bye, returning home to face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, before traveling to the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 26.
"I think we've got to truly have a 'we got nothing to lose' mentality," Wilson said Sunday about the uphill climb the team faces. "If that's how we feel, then it's got to be obvious. If you're out there as a player, you should feel ... like, 'Let's go, yeah.' And even on the TV, I feel like y'all should see that.
"As a fan base watching the team and media, y'all should be able to tell like we're playing like we've got nothing to lose, and I don't think that was evident today. So, I think that's where we've got to -- we're 0-6, man. Let's let it fly."
