Jay Williams Turns Heads With Historical Jalen Brunson Prediction

The New York Knicks and superstar point guard Jalen Brunson are currently up 3-1 in their playoff series against the Boston Celtics. With Jayson Tatum now out due to a torn Achilles that he suffered in Game 4, the Knicks seem likely headed to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Assuming New York does close out its series against the Celtics, Brunson and company would move on to face the Indiana Pacers and star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who dispatched of the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games.

Brunson has continued improving throughout his career to this point. He is on pace to become one of the best players in Knicks' history.

Throughout the course of the 2024-25 NBA season, Brunson averaged 26 points per game to go along with 7.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.9 steals. He shot 48.8% from the floor and 38.3% from 3-point range.

Due his impressive trajectory, former NBA point guard Jay Williams believes that Brunson is destined to place his name in New York history books. During a segment of "Get Up," Williams made a historical prediction for Brunson.

"I do think he will shatter pretty much all New York Knick records," Williams said.

During the Knicks' current playoff run, Brunson has been playing at an incredibly high level. He has averaged 30.1 points, eight assists, and four rebounds in 10 games. Brunson has the team looking like a legitimate NBA Finals contender.

After the win in Game 4 and Tatum's injury, Brunson showed class in addition to elite play. He sent a message to Tatum as he heads into a grueling recovery process.

"Prayers out to JT, man," Brunson said. "I just want to say that first and foremost. Thoughts and prayers with him and just praying for the best."

Game 5 between New York and Boston will tip off at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday night. Brunson will look to continue his impressive streak of performances and close out the series for the Knicks on the road.
