Giants-titans Injuries: Andrew Thomas Will Play; Brian Burns Uncertain

New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas, dealing with a groin injury suffered late in Monday night’s 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, is determined to play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Thomas simply said “Yep” when asked on Friday if he would be in the lineup on Sunday.

Thomas was injured on the team’s final drive, but said he intended to go back in the game had the Giants gotten the ball back.

“I was planning to go back out there,’ Thomas said. ”Obviously, didn’t have that opportunity, but the mindset was to wrap it up and go.“

Thomas missed practice on Thursday, saying that the training staff “held me out.” He was back on the practice field Friday.

“I was sore right after the game, but I’m feeling good today,” Thomas said.

“I think all of us are always trying to play. Obviously, you’ve got to put your body first. I mean, that’s the most important. But I think all those guys you named are trying to step up for Jameis [Winston]. Obviously, I hate what happened to [Jaxson] Dart. Anytime anyone gets hurt, especially a quarterback. But we’re trying to rally around Jameis and do the best we can for him.”

Thomas was listed as a limited participant in Friday’s practice, but is not carrying an injury designation. So, he will play.

Three Giants are questionable:

• Brian Burns — The edge defender and defensive captain did not practice all week due to an ankle injury. Media on hand Friday saw Burns work some on the side with trainers. It seems unlikely he will play.
• Deonte Banks — The cornerback missed Monday’s game against the Rams with a calf injury. he has been listed as a limited practice participant all week.
• Tyler Nubin — The starting safety has a calf injury. Like Banks, he was listed as limited all week.

For the Titans, former Giant cornerback Cor’Dale Flott is questionable with a quad injury. He did not play in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Running back Tyjae Spears is also questionable with an ankle injury.
