Giants Could Sign Visiting Gabe Davis In Free Agency

Gabe Davis is starting to make a free agency tour.
Should his list of stops ... stop in New York?
The Giants are hosting the receiver Davis on a visit after he met with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, per reporter Jordan Schultz.
And the connection here is obvious.
Davis was previously coached by now Giants boss Brian Daboll back in Buffalo, when Daboll was the offensive coordinator there ... making this a potential reunion partnership of sorts.
When the Bills said goodbye to Davis a year ago in free agency, a big-play loss was felt ... but it did not happen for him in Jacksonville, where he ended up catching only 20 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns before suffering a season-ending injury.
The Jaguars cut him last week ... and just Bills Mafia is right to ponder a reunion here, so are the Giants.
In his four years with the Bills, Davis scored 27 touchdowns and averaged 16.7 yards per catch. ... his big-play reputation coming especially in the playoffs.
NFL fans will surely always remember his most notable performance - a four-touchdown game against the Chiefs in the 2021 playoffs.
Can he bring that to a Giants team that features Malik Nabers at wideout with some holes to fill behind him?
The 6-2 Davis, who just turned 26, can run, he can block, he can do highlight-reel things ... and yes, he is also guilty of some drops.
But he's going to play somewhere in 2025, obviously.
The 49ers, who parted ways with long-time star wide receiver Deebo Samuel in a trade to Washington, were taking a first look.
The Bills might do the same.
And what went wrong in Jacksonville - the Jaguars have a new look in their wide receiver room thanks to 2025 NFL Draft second-overall pick Travis Hunter - could get fixed here.
In his time with the Bills, Davis was one of the best WR2s in the league next to Stefon Diggs. New York now does employ a No. 1 guy like Diggs ... and Russell Wilson could use some help. will be using a committee of receivers this year.
An experienced guy like Davis? We bet Daboll likes the idea of a return to a security blanket.
