Georgia Baseball Manager Shuts Down Speculation

The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team is having another successful season. After reaching the Super Regional in coach Wes Johnson's debut year, they are poised for another postseason run in his second season. However, Johnson's name has recently surfaced in connection with a coaching vacancy within the SEC.
Following Mississippi State's decision to part ways with head coach Chris Lemonis, the program has begun its search for a new leader, and Johnson has been mentioned as a possible candidate. When questioned about his interest in the Mississippi State job, Johnson promptly dismissed any rumors.
“I love Georgia. I have no plans to venture to Starkville. I’ll just say that," Johnson said.
Wes Johnson has compiled an impressive 82-28 record during his tenure at the University of Georgia. In the latest national polls, both Baseball America and Perfect Game have recognized the Bulldogs as the top-ranked team in the nation. Furthermore, they are currently projected to host both the NCAA Regional and, should they advance, the Super Regional rounds of the postseason for the second consecutive year.
Georgia baseball plays Alabama in a three-game series from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 11.
