Flash Defeat Mad Drops In Duong’s First Match Back For La

The Dallas Flash closed out their campaign in the desert with a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Mad Drops.
The match didn’t get off to the best start for Dallas, however, as Jorja Johnson/Tyra Black suffered their first defeat of the season. They fell to Catherine Parenteau/Jade Kawamoto by a 3-11 score line.
That put Dallas in a hole, but the defending champions wouldn’t stay there for long as JW Johnson/Augie Ge grinded out a 12-10 victory over Quang Duong/Hunter Johnson.
That evened the match going into mixed doubles, where the Flash really found their groove; Black/Ge defeated Kawamoto/Johnson 11-3, while Johnson/Johnson beat Parenteau/Duong 11-4.
Getting the win in regulation was key for the Flash because the Mad Drops—who were able to use their intended starting lineup for the first time this season with Duong’s suspension over—are, on paper, one of the scariest DreamBreaker teams in all of MLP.
Ge, a Phoenix native, spoke about the experience of playing men’s doubles when facing a deficit instead of when holding a lead.
“[Jorja and Tyra] have been carrying me for the entire season and last season as well, so I figured I would try and step up one time,” he said. “The home crowd here helped a lot and helped us manufacture some energy after a quick turnaround from yesterday.”
Dallas will leave Arizona after going 6-0 to continue their undefeated season, while Los Angeles will close out the weekend with a match against the Atlanta Bouncers.
