Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Early Pickups To Consider Going Into Week 7

We're almost into the midway point of the 2025 NFL season and it's becoming more difficult to find quality players to add off the fantasy football waiver wire. But due to the volume of injuries and byes, we have no choice but to persist and try to hit gold. Below, we'll give you a few early waiver wire options to consider going into Week 7.
Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Early Week 7 Pickups
Kimani Vidal, RB, Chargers (27% rostered on Yahoo)
Plenty of eyes were on the Chargers' backfield heading into Week 6. With rookie RB Omarion Hampton on injured reserve, L.A. was forced to turn to a combination of Hassan Haskins and Vidal, the latter of whom was the more dynamic back in Week 6 vs. the Dolphins. The 2024 sixth-round pick finished with 18 carries for 124 yards while adding three catches for 14 yards and a TD, adding up to 21.3 fantasy points. Vidal showed big-play ability, ripping off long runs of 38 yards and 19 yards in the first half. Haskins finished with seven touches, but you've got to think Vidal leads the backfield next week vs. the Colts after this performance.
Bam Knight, RB, Cardinals (13% rostered)
Michael Carter was the clear lead back for Arizona last week, filling in for Trey Benson, who was placed on IR. This week, things shifted a bit vs. the Colts. Knight (11.9 FPTS) out-touched Carter 12-11 in Week 6 and it was the second straight game the former scored a TD. Each caught just one pass on two targets and we saw very little of Emari Demercado (as was expected after his massive gaffe at the goal line last week). This will be a tough situation to lock down week-to-week (plus, Benson should be back at some point). In the meantime, Knight is worth an add given his goal-line role, but know that he's only a semi-viable FLEX option for Weeks 7 and 9 since Arizona is on bye in Week 8.
Also worth noting, Marvin Harrison Jr. left Sunday with concussion-like symptoms. If MHJ misses any time, Zay Jones (0% rostered) is a consideration in deeper formats. He had five catches on eight targets for 79 yards vs. the Colts.

Kayshon Boutte and DeMario Douglas, WRs, Patriots (7% and 5% rostered)
Stefon Diggs spent the past two weeks as the lead wideout for New England. So of course, we saw nothing but depth production for the Patriots vs. the Saints on Sunday. QB Drake Maye was flawless and found Boutte and Douglas for a combined eight catches for 164 yards and three TDs (two for Boutte). Most of Douglas' production came on a 53-yard TD catch. Diggs is still the No. 1 WR but this is becoming more of a rotation at receiver with Boutte, Douglas, Diggs, Mack Hollins and TE Hunter Henry all involved. Maye is playing well enough that Boutte and Douglas are worth bench spots if you can afford one in deeper formats.
Jalen Coker, WR, Panthers (11% rostered)
The Panthers offense is starting to come together with the play of QB Bryce Young, WR Tetairoa McMillan and RB Rico Dowdle. But other than those two, Young has been hard-pressed to find a reliable receiving option. Enter Coker, who should be ready to return in Week 7 after missing six games due to a quad injury. He had a few standout performances as a rookie in 2024. Coker won't have to do much to leapfrog players like Xavier Legette and Jimmy Horn Jr.
Bonus: QBs to stream
The Bills will be on bye in Week 7, so no Josh Allen. If you're looking for a temporary QB replacement, here are some names to consider. Trevor Lawrence, Sam Darnold and Jaxson Dart all have tough matchups.
Bryce Young, CAR at NYJ (21%) — Young played well vs. Dallas and New York has allowed at least 27 points in five of six losses this season. He finished Week 6 with 19.46 FPTS, throwing for three TDs.
Aaron Rodgers, PIT at CIN (18%) — You can comfortably fire up any QB against Cincinnati this season. Rodgers had a very strong day against what was deemed a tough Browns defense in Week 6 with 235 yards and two touchdowns for 17.5 fantasy points.
Dillon Gabriel, CLE vs. MIA (5%) — If you're in a deep league, I'm talking 14-16 teams, Gabriel isn't a bad option against Miami. The rookie has averaged 42.5 pass attempts through two starts, which is encouraging volume. The Dolphins are a beatable matchup and Gabriel should continue to chuck the ball.
