Action report from the bookmakers

Los Angeles Chargers at Buffalo Bills

Joey Feazel, head NFL trader at Caesars Sportsbook: "Tale of two teams. The Bills have been very impressive and Josh Allen is making separation in the MVP market early on, which isn't something you usually see. Chargers have a tough schedule upcoming and blew the first two games agains teams they were expected to beat. As expected, we're seeing mostly Bills action and I don't see that changing. Lookahead was Bills -4.5, we're up to a juiced 7. I wouldn't be surprised if we get to 7.5."

Christian Cipollini, BetMGM NFL trader: "A story of two different teams. There were some question marks around both the Bills and Chargers with new coaching, but it's gone in opposite directions. This certainly wasn't Bills -7 in the preseason. We're writing a lot more Bills action than Chargers, and I anticipate that to continue. That line has moved off how both teams have looked so far."

New England Patriots at Jacksonville Jaguars

Feazel: "Obviously Patriots were a disappointment in Week 1. Jaguars looked really efficient in Week 1 and fell to Broncos in Week 2. I don't think people have been super impressed with the Patriots so far, right now we're seeing more action on Jacksonville at home. We opened -2.5 on the Jags, now up to 3. Total at 45 and has stayed there. I'd expect more money on Jacksonville as we approach kickoff, maybe a little bit more two-way. Need will probably be Patriots and the under."

Cipollini: "Patriots have looked a little flat. Looking at the numbers we have now, if you're a Jags backer, you'll take 'em -3 and a Pats backer, you'll take them on ML. I expect kind of close to 50-50 action overall. We'll probably want Jags to win, but not cover."

Seattle Seahawks at Washington Commanders

Feazel: "Not a lot of Marcus Mariota fans apparently. The story for Seattle the first two weeks is that the defense is still a force. There was still some Cardinals love from Week 1, as the Week 2 game closed Seattle -3.5 in some spots. I'd anticipate Sam Darnold probably not to play in this one, as they haven't needed him to get these wins. Jadarian Price also questionable. One-way action on Seattle in this one."

Cipollini: "This line certainly wasn't 7 either, going into the season. Obviously off Jayden Daniels, we had him worth 4.5-5 points on the spread. I expect majority of action to be on the Seahawks, even though Washington is at home. If we do end up getting Darnold, it won't move much maybe to 7.5. If it does end up being Drew Lock, I could see getting a little more mixed action."

Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys (in Brazil)

Feazel: "Still seeing more money on the Ravens at this point. Will be interested to see how the field impacts this game, but it's still the highest total on the board. We'll see how the field conditions are as we get closer to that game. We saw this impacting the running side of the game, which would impact Ravens more. We opened Ravens -3.5 (-105), and we're still at -3.5. It'll be interesting to see line movement closer as we get more info on field conditions."

Cipollini: "Of the non prime-time games, this is the one I'd expect we'll take the most handle on. Highest point total of the week. Both defenses have looked pretty shaky and two good offenses going at it. Similar to Jags-Patriots, Ravens are 3.5-point favorites, I expect closer to 50-50 action. Plenty of fans on both sides, we'll get good two-way action. There's still so much unknown regarding the field conditions. I do think that the total was going to be inflated a little because of that, but too much unknown and nothing to really quantify. We'll reassess after."

Los Angeles Rams at Denver Broncos

Feazel: "We saw all the love for the Rams in this offseason, and then they lost in Week 1. We actually needed the Rams on Monday night and they got there against the Giants. A little bit more money on the Rams right now, but expecting two-way action. Rams certainly looked more efficient on offense than in Australia; maybe it was the travel or the 49ers are really good. I don't see this getting to Rams-3 or down to -1.5, I think -2.5 should be the number. Total down from 46.5 to 45.5, money leaning more towards the under.

Cipollini: "We expect a ton of handle for this one, it should be a really good matchup. Rams still below that field goal number, I'll be curious to see where this ends up – I think it'll go to Rams -3. If I had to guess it'll be 60-40 Rams action. Anytime it's a prime-time game, we'll be rooting for a low-scoring game. We tend to get four times as much action on these games than on the 1 p.m. ET games."
