Cowboys' Pickens Move Will Do Damage Predicts Excited Dez

When it comes to competitive, fiery personalities in the NFL, new Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens often gets a bad rap.
With George's heart often in the right place, sometimes, in the heat of the moment, he can let it get to him, sometimes to the team's detriment.
When it comes to dissecting a player like that, former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, who, like Pickens, was a competitive dude and a beast of a talent who wore his emotions on his sleeve, is more qualified than most to speak on how Pickens conducts himself on the field.
And as it turns out, Bryant knows exactly where George is coming from.
"I love Pickens' attitude, for a guy like Pickens, it's easy for him to be misunderstood," Bryant said. "For the guys that actually played the game, that know the game of football, understand exactly where Pickens is coming from. He's a playmaker, he wants the ball, and when you got a guy like that with such raw talent, you gotta get him the ball. Pittsburgh, they didn't do a great job of doing that.
"Matching him up with a guy like CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, with an elite offense, the sky is up for him. We're going to see this guy do damage."

It was hard to succeed as a receiver in Pittsburgh with the revolving door at the quarterback position, plus the offensive scheme, and he certainly didn't have a quarterback like Dak throwing him the ball.
He does now.
Are the fiery outbursts a problem? Depends on who you ask, because the new Cowboys' locker room leaders will help Pickens navigate it and cool things down when on the field.
George showed a new sense of maturity when discussing his 2025 season during Thursday's conference call with Cowboys beat writers, it already feels like George is well aware of what's in front of him.
Yes, he's a little fiery, but the Cowboys need that edge, and with the "coolers" as Colin Cowherd called them, like Dak, if Pickens can keep things in check, as Dez said, he'll do some damage.
