Browns Gm Updates Sad Nick Chubb Truth For Fans

The Cleveland Browns have a very public quarterback problem. But what's a little lesser known is their potential issue at running back.
After seven total seasons with Nick Chubb in the backfield, including two injury-riddled campaigns, it appears the Browns could be moving on from the former Georgia Bulldog.
In this year's NFL Draft, the general manager, Andrew Berry, selected Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins in the second round and Tennessee's Dylan Samson in the fourth. That, along with the reworking of Jerome Ford's contract, seems to indicate Chubb's time in Cleveland is done.
“I wouldn’t rule anything out, but I would say it’s probably increasingly unlikely,” Berry said in a Friday interview with Ken Carman and Anthony Lima on Cleveland’s 92.3 The Fan. “We do have two young guys that we like. We think Jerome plays a role. It’s basically kind of maybe seeing how the roles shake out in the running backs room.
“Look, you’re never going to rule out someone as near and dear to our heart as Nick. And I would expect him to take another step, being another year removed from the injury. But I’d say maybe a return is less likely — at least in the short term — with us right now.”
How will things "shake out''? If it all doesn't go just right ... it's a problem.
And the Browns will get second-guessed here by fans who love Chubb.
The Browns took Chubb in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and he was a regular contributor to the Cleveland offense, appearing in 75 of 82 games and eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark in four of those seasons. He also scored 48 touchdowns during that time.
But after a devastating knee injury in 2023, he's played in just 10 games over the past two seasons and rushed for 502 yards total with three scores.
Chubb is just 29 and might still have a couple of NFL years left. But it looks like that will be somewhere else and not in Cleveland.
