Bears Lose Oc Declan Doyle To Ravens In Same Role

Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle will be leaving to become the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday.

Doyle, 29, will be taking over offensive play-calling duties for Baltimore, according to Schefter’s report. With their new head coach Jesse Minter coming from a defensive background, their offensive coordinator hire was key for them.

The Bears hired Doyle to be Ben Johnson’s OC soon after Johnson became the team’s head coach. Though Johnson held play-calling duties on offense, Doyle held a key role in weekly preparation and insight on the scheme.

Doyle’s rapid ascent in the NFL speaks to how highly regarded he is in coaching circles. He spent 2023 and 2024 as the tight ends coach for the Broncos, spending time as an offensive assistant for the Saints before that.

2026 will mark the first season he hasn’t been involved directly in the Sean Payton coaching tree, or some offshoot of it. Though Johnson never worked directly under Payton, he coached under Dan Campbell in Detroit, who stems directly from Payton’s tree.

The Bears will now have to find a new offensive coordinator and running backs coach, in addition to losing assistant GM Ian Cunningham to the Falcons’ GM role with his hiring on Thursday night.
