A.j. Jackson Won’t Be Charged With A Felony
Rams offensive tackle Alaric Jackson will not face felony charges for his recent arrest, according to the Los Angeles County Distract Attorney’s Office, but he could still face criminal charges and be suspended by the NFL. Having been suspended for two games in 2024 under the league’s personal conduct policy, Jackson’s second incident in as many years puts him in danger of a longer suspension this time.
Jackson was arrested on suspicion of battery on June 9 after an alleged incident with an ex-girlfriend, who is pregnant. The accuser applied for a restraining order against Jackson, alleging that he caused injury when attempting to take a phone from her.
The 28 year old is entering the first year of a three-year, $57 million extension that he signed with the Rams in 2025.

If Jackson is suspended by the NFL, the Rams will have to find a new starting left tackle to start the season. Speculation has pointed to former Lions tackle Taylor Decker, but in house options like David Quessenberry, A.J. Arcuri, and Keagan Trost could be more likely.
According to the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy announcement from 2022, the league can be banished “for life” with a chance to apply for reinstatement after one year. However, that policy is directed towards players charged with a felony, so this recent update could give Jackson a chance to return to the Rams during the 2026 season.
