According to ESPN’s lead league insider Adam Schefter, 49ers five-time Pro Bowl defensive end Nick Bosa suffered a calf injury during practice this week and is expected to miss a “few weeks,” and the team is determining whether Bosa will land on the injured reserve or not.

This is relevant to the Broncos because they will head to Santa Clara next week to take on Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers, who could be down their star pass rusher for this key matchup.

The Broncos have caught some injury breaks in recent weeks, with Myles Garrett and Puka Nacua both unlikely to play on Sunday Night. Now, their opponent next week, the 49ers, could be down their star pass rusher Nick Bosa while continuing to suffer injury blows throughout their roster. Now, things can change in a week, but it does sound unlikely that Bosa will be back and healthy in a week due to the wording of Schefter’s tweet.

The Broncos’ offensive line is considered one of, if not the best units in the NFL. However, they struggled with the rest of the team in Week 1 but did bounce back and perform better in Week 2. They will face a tough Rams front 7 on Sunday Night before heading to Santa Clara to take on a banged-up 49ers roster, potentially being down their star pass rusher.

For now, the Broncos have to take care of business on Sunday Night vs. the Rams and hopefully improve to 2-1 on the season with back-to-back impressive wins against two of the better teams in the NFL. If they can do that, they can turn their attention to the potentially Bosa-less 49ers with the hopes of improving to 3-1, or if all goes wrong on Sunday Night, getting back to .500 at 2-2.

Since Sean Payton has taken over the Broncos, they have been the least injured team in the NFL, which is a big reason for their success. They need to continue to stay healthy while also taking advantage of teams not being at full strength. Do that, and the Broncos will be one of the best teams in the NFL once again this season.
