Trump Picks Casey Means For Surgeon General

President Donald Trump on Wednesday tapped Casey Means to serve as the country’s next surgeon general, shortly after news broke he was withdrawing his first nominee.
“Casey has impeccable ‘MAHA’ credentials, and will work closely with our wonderful Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to ensure a successful implementation of our Agenda in order to reverse the Chronic Disease Epidemic, and ensure Great Health, in the future, for ALL Americans,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
POLITICO and other outlets reported earlier on Wednesday that Trump was withdrawing the nomination of Janette Nesheiwat to be surgeon general, a day before the Fox News contributor was set to appear before a Senate committee for a confirmation hearing.
POLITICO in November reported that Means, a wellness influencer and former surgeon, was under consideration for the post. Her brother, Calley Means, is a top adviser to Kennedy.
“Her academic achievements, together with her life’s work, are absolutely outstanding,” Trump wrote. “Dr. Casey Means has the potential to be one of the finest Surgeon Generals in United States History.”
