Wrongfully Towed After Registering My Plate – Ai Confusion? What Can I Do?

Something really upsetting happened and I need to share it, maybe someone has advice or has been through the same.

Back in January, I got a new license plate and messaged the housing office through their official number to update it. I got a response confirming that they updated my new plate in their system and reassured me that I wouldn’t be towed. I honestly felt relieved and trusted that everything was handled.

But now, months later, my car was towed.

When I went to talk to them, they looked at the screenshots of the conversation and told me they can’t accept it because it was AI. I was shocked. I had no idea I was even talking to AI — the responses were specific, clear, and confirmed everything like a real person would. It never once told me I was speaking with a bot.

I feel like I’m being blamed for trusting the system they set up. I followed the rules, did my part, and now I’m stuck with a towing bill for something I shouldn’t be paying for.

I’m emotionally drained and honestly feel gaslit. Whether it was AI or not, that system told me my car was safe. I have full screenshots, proof of registration, and a photo of my plate. Yet they’re refusing to take any responsibility.

I don’t know what else to do, but I know this isn’t fair. If you’ve ever dealt with anything like this or know what steps I can take to fight this, I’d really appreciate any advice.

Update: i picked up my car and my car is not okk. It’s making all kind of sound rattling I can’t focus when driving. The sound is too loud. I am not in position to afford mechanic right now my car was totally fine idk what should i do??
