What Is The Process Of Turning Yourself In For Out Of State Bench Warrant

I’m planning to turn myself in tomorrow in Delaware for a bench warrant I have in Idaho. The original charge was a DUI but I plead down to ‘Inattentive Driving’ since I was just sleeping in a parking lot, not driving. Anyway, I found out about the warrant not long ago, I wasn’t able to meet all the requirements I agreed to, namely the fine, mental health/drug evaluation, and a DUI/VIP class since I couldn’t afford them. I spent my last $20 on community service (who knew you have to pay to do community service?) so I did at least get that out of the way. But a family friend took me in with her to live in Delaware and I ended up missing a court date I didn’t know I had. This was about two years ago though, so the warrant is probably very old, which I assume is bad.

I plan on turning myself in at the police station tomorrow because this warrant has prevented me from getting a new job and I need to pass a background check for this job I’m onboarding for. I’m just wondering what the process is, I saw a post about this 6 years ago, where some said the person would likely not even be booked into a cell, and others saying they might be extradited after staying in jail for up to 30 days. I talked to my lawyer who said he could likely “quash” the warrant if I at least get a mental health evaluation, but I need a job to get the money to pay for that, but also can’t get a job because of the warrant. So I’ve just decided to turn myself in and hope for the best.

I really just want to know at least a little about what’s going to happen so I can prepare myself.
