Seeking Legal Advice: My Child’s Father Was Arrested For Child Pornography.
Location: Slidell, Louisiana What type of lawyer do I need? It’s been almost 4 years since his arrest and I’m still very lost on what I can do in this situation. I don’t receive any support from his family in this situation, as they don’t even believe it to be true. They have also since caused violent disruptions to our life including attempts to kidnap my child, which has pushed me to be on guard anytime I bring him to places in our city. He took a plea deal and the only time from I have received is the possibility of him being released in 2034, maybe sooner for time served. Any research attempted to know his release, has left me with more questions than answers or I’ve been told I can not know that. I was also told by law enforcement that my children and I would receive lists of resources to help us with being protected, which was not given even when asked for it. It was suggested to get an emergency protection order at the time, I didn’t have the best income to help me afford the costs of the protection order and it was made aware to me that he would know our address at all times so I did not choose that route. Mainly what I’m asking for is: what should I do? which type of lawyer would I go to in this situation? Tyia
