Police Won't Let Me File A Report For Stolen Violin.

Location: Georgia

Back in june I had gone to a mental hospital for a suicide attempt. During that time my boyfriend had taken my violin, wich was the only thing I had left from my biological mom, and pawned it. He used someone else and their ID to pawn it and they got locked up so he couldn't make payments or nothing. I was already initially pissed because we had a conversation a few weeks before that happened about how of anything needed to be pawned, it was not that. That was the last thing to be pawned because of sentimental value. He still pawned it anyways. After trying to peacefully negotiate with him to try to get it back, he refuses. He thinks he shouldn't have to buy it back, nothing. I tried to make a Police report the other day and they told me they "couldn't do anything because it was pawned"

Is that right? Can they not do anything because it was already pawned? Have I just lost the only thing I have left of my mom? I don't have any good income atm so I can't buy it back myself, and don't have anyone that would be willing to do that for me. He stole my violin while I was in a vulnerable situation. He also took $200 from my bank account and I never got it back. There was no emergency for the 6 days I was gone, so it's not like something needed to pe paid ASAP, he just stole it because I was in a hospital and couldn't do anything.
