Parent Changed Grandfathers Will About A Year Before A Prolonged Uti And Memory Care. Cut Almost Everyone Out Of The Old Will And Significantly Reduced The Cut Going To The People Left On The Will.

Location: southern indiana
So my roommates mother started taking care of the grandfather when he was having some difficulty remembering things. It was a long saga where my roommate complained that his grandfather should be in a home but his parents weren't listening and wanted to take care of him themselves. After about a year of this, they were having troubles with the grampa urinating himself, took him in for burning when peeing. It was a UTI (which he had for weeks!) that ended up with the doctors pushing him into full time care and a memory unit for dementia.
Some time during that saga the will was changed, before the UTI incident.
Now it has been about 5 years since the grandfather passed and the mother, the executor on the new will, still hasn't closed the estate. While my roomate was looking into the delay he found out he was the executor on the old will and it was supposed to be exclusively to him and the other 4 grand kids, with his mom and uncle splitting whatever was in their grandpa's checking and saving. The new will is 80% of everything goes to his mom and the remaining 20% is split between him and his sister with the other brother, two cousins and uncle getting nothing.
The roommate thinks his mom is working in bad faith to execute the existing will, also that she is hiding money, and that the will was probably changed while his grandpa was already in significant decline.
Is there anything that could be done?
