Misdemeanor Charge In Arizona - Seeking Diversion Program
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
I was recently charged with public urination in Scottsdale, AZ (took a leak in a secluded corner in an alley behind a bar and 4 cops on bikes immediately surrounded me). I have never been arrested / gotten a ticket before and looks like I will most likely qualify for a diversion program. There are no aggravating factors to this case like me urinating on someone's car or on an officer, I just finished my business in a corner and was immediately taken to jail.
I have spoken with 2 law firms and the best quote i have gotten is $3000 flat fee for full representation including sealing the case upon completion. Is this a fair quote for my charge / hopeful outcome of a diversionary program? Or should I try going the public defender or self representation route. It seems like the diversionary program is a very common outcome for cases like mine so wanted to see if there is an affordable way for me to reach that outcome.
