Issues With Job Description + Title Discrepancy

Location: DC office (company is NY based) Start Date: Late 2023
Around mid-year the company re-structured and “eliminated” my previous role which was essentially a technical analyst position handling invoice discrepancies. Dept. management updated my job title to a specialist role without changing the job description or having me sign any new docs.
While I’m thankful to have a job, the new role is a 180 degree difference (contract management + executive summaries now required) and all the new hires into the similar position (they are careful to make sure I’m the only one with my exact title) make $15k-$30k more than I do.
I’ve requested my new job description three times and to have my role readjusted, since the changes were made. Nothing has been done.
They’re now trying to coach me/use the duties under the new role as factors in my performance review. I’m concerned about the impact of that and legality behind it.
What are my options for legal action in this case? Should I take any legal action? This whole situation has been as stressful as job hunting in the current market. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
