Help: Pip After Disability Leave
Location: San Francisco, California
I took a Short term disability leave for 2 months. I returned to my job and there were no problems for a month. My boss was pleased with my return and my work since until recently. We had my annual performance review and it was completely negative. We agreed to meet again the following day to touch up on possible courses I could take that would advance my career.
I enter the meeting the following day and she handed me a PIP form. 80% of it isn’t true. I had never talked with my manager about the issues that she listed, because there were never prior complaints.
I feel it’s retaliatory considering I’ve only been back a month AND I had a very positive mid year review 6 months prior - 3 months before the leave.
Side note: there was a confrontation with a different higher up in the company one year prior. She verbally abused me and I did report it to HR.
What should I do? Should I sign the PIP? Do I not sign? I do think I will want to pursue legal options but I’m not sure whether to do now or if terminated?
