Ex Refusing To Use Court-appointed Parenting App, Forcing Google “confidential Email” Instead

Card image cap

The court ordered us to use a parenting app for communication, and I’ve also kept a chain of emails on regular email so there’s documentation. But my ex refuses to use either one. Instead, he’s trying to force me to use a Google “confidential communication” email where the threads disappear after a few days. He’s telling me that if I don’t use it, there will be no communication.

I don’t open them because it feels like a trap — there’s no paper trail, and it seems like he wants to manipulate the situation. He lies in court saying that he uses the app (when he doesn’t) and claims I’m the one who refuses.

On top of that, he’s now not showing up for exchanges. It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve seen my 5-year-old daughter, and the only messages he’s sending are through this disappearing-email system.

Has anyone dealt with something like this? What should I do to protect myself legally and make sure I don’t lose the documentation the court expects?
