Dental Assistant Told Me To Seek Legal Advice Against My Dentist
Location: California
My dentist performed an emergency root canal on an upper tooth last week. She didn't finish the root canal but said it was done (another dentist at this location ended up doing a scan of my head before I left and found that she did not finish it). She put the permanent cap on said tooth though. I've been bleeding out of my nose and mouth since last week, incredibly swollen face and neck that has not gone down even with a prescription for steroids. The dental assistant told me to sue her, the company told me they would get my money back and send me to a specialist now because she pushed the root canal up into my sinuses.
I looked up my dentist online and found out she has had quite a few reports against her and previous legal action has been taken (I'm unable to see what happened though). She even had community service. And she's practiced at multiple dental offices.
Her work station when she performed my root canal was horrible. She kept dropping stuff, she was rambling on about relationship troubles, her tray was a MESS to the point I took a picture of it because it was so awful. She was behaving like she was on drugs. The whole time I had tears streaming down my face, a horribly swollen face, she burned my mouth, etc. And now I need to see a specialist to have my tooth evaluated and possibly removed.
I've never sought legal action against anyone. I had a few people who worked at said dental office who told me to sue her for what she did. Is this something I can actually do?
