Delivery Driver “returned” My Purse After Finding It In My Driveway - Now I Have Charges On My Card
Location: WA State
I unfortunately dropped my coin purse when I was coming home from work. A delivery driver delivered a package and they obtained my coin purse, which had a bunch of debit and credit cards along with my identification. The delivery driver came back to my home, a good five times trying to return the purse but every time I try to go meet him, he’d already leave. I finally got to him and he returned my purse back, which I was very thankful for. A few days later I saw that my card had a transaction for almost $1100. The person tried to deposit an additional $700 to a Cash App that had their name on it as a declined transaction (thanks, Chase) I looked them up online and lo and behold, it’s the same person who returned my wallet.
I reported it to the company the person works for (Amazon flex) and told them the situation and how I do not want that person anywhere near my home and cancelled all of my credit cards. I had to close my checking and savings account and I filed a police report. I submitted evidence from my doorbell camera, transactions, etc to Amazon and law enforcement.
This has never happened before and I have no idea what to expect. Can anyone give me any guidance on what to do? I’m a single mom and I was left with nothing. Pretty down in the dumps. I also suffer from anxiety and I am constantly looking over my shoulder fearing retaliation.
Thank you
