Custody?!
Location: North Carolina I am 24 weeks pregnant, and the father of my child severely physically abused me. Strangled me, hit me open handed upside the head, 2 hours of abuse endured. I called police but abuser ran and since police couldn’t see any “physical evidence” with a quick glance outside in the dark, they told me I could be arrested for falsifying a report. I’m terrified of this man. Abuser messaged me saying he was so sorry and he knows I’m afraid of him now. Left hundreds of miles away but never said where he went. Mood changed then he sent threats saying he would send girls to my house to beat me up, and that he has so much more money than me and he will take full custody of our son when he is born. I obviously am not putting him on the birth certificate but what if he petitions to establish paternity? I do not want to be forced to see/exchange our child. I do not think it is in the best interest of the child to have even supervised visits with him. What should I do?
