Charged 1,250 For A Covid Test At The Er, Is There Anything I Can Do?

Card image cap

location: montana . i'm 20f

back in july, i went to the er for extreme pain swallowing & breathing. while the er trip itself was frustrating in it's own right (i was essentially told "we have no idea, good luck!" lol), after receiving the bill, i had been charged ~1,250$ JUST for the covid test. the entire bill came out to around 3.3k, almost a 3rd of that is just the single covid test. i was not informed it would cost this much, nor was i asked about the test before they simply came in and told me they were going to take one. i have BCBS insurance through my parents, but it covered exactly 18 dollars of the bill (the throat numbing medicine shot i was given). is there literally anything i can do? does this fall under the no surprises act? this is the first time i've been to the ER since an appendicitis scare at 9, i don't know if this is normal and i'm just complaining over nothing, or if it's completely unreasonable to charge over 1k for a single covid test. if it's at all relevant, i also recieved a strep test, which was only 200 dollars.

i'm extremely poor, i don't know how to handle this. please be kind, i don't have any adult figures in my real life i can talk to about this.

eta: my parents live out of state in washington, i'm not sure if this means the ER i went to counts as "out of network" or not. i don't have any direct access to the plan details, just a photo of my insurance card on my phone
