Can Kay Jewelers Take You To Court?

Random Post and I apologize but I got a weird call yesterday. When I called it back, it was a little strange. They answered "Legal courier" no actual name. But anyways they said they had a returned mail from my address (which is my current address) and idk how it would have been returned. We live here. I have a mailbox. Then they told me that I am being summoned to court for my Kays account that was opened back in 2016. If I am being summoned to court, wouldnt a court deputy have to come to my house with papers? Which I also checked my cameras to make sure nobody tried to for the past 30 days and didnt see anything. Then when I asked what is the name of the legal services that is reaching out to me since all I got was legal courier and I am making sure this is not a scam he mumbled. When i told him i didnt understand him he said we needed to get back onto the topic. Told me I can pay the owed balance of 500 today or do a montly break down between 12-18 months and pay a total of 2500... then asked for my bank information. I then decided to tell him I never recieved anything in the mail saying this is in collections or whats going on. I told him i will call back tomorrow with what I decide to do cause I'm afraid if I do anything its actually a scam and I just gave this random place my bank information. I also found out this same "company" contacted a family member I have not seen or spoke to in 18 years. This person was never listed as a contact person for me or anything so how did they know to contact them? It's kind of odd... I dont want to have to go to court for a few payments i missed years ago but never seen anything from since.... I just need some advice if this is a real thing or if i should contact my local county court to see if they have any information on this "summonsed" they say I have?
