Need some advice about a possible rent accounting issue.

My landlord recently posted a 3-day notice on my door claiming I owe $900 in rent. The problem is that none of the numbers seem to match.

A few weeks ago, my online resident portal showed that I had a $2,700 credit and literally said, "There is nothing for you to pay." I took screenshots of it.

The payment ledger also shows multiple payments/credits being applied to my account that add up to that $2,700 credit. However, at other times, the portal has shown completely different balances, including around $1,400 owed and over $2,700 owed.

For context, my rent is $1,350 a month. tribal housing recently finalized assistance to pay a portion of my rent, and shortly after that, the $2,700 credit appeared on my account.

I have screenshots of:

- The portal showing a $2,700 credit and no balance due.

- The account ledger showing the payments/credits.

- The 3-day notice claiming I owe $900.

Can a landlord serve a 3-day notice when their own records show completely different amounts owed? What are my rights if the rent ledger, online portal, and notice all contradict each other? Should I demand an itemized accounting before paying anything?

Any advice would be appreciated.
