At Fault Driver Is Suing Me And My Insurance For Bodily Harm And Asking For 30,000+.
Location: Los Angeles , California
As the title states, at fault driver is suing me and my insurance and asking for 30,000+ for bodily injury. This happened 6 months ago.
His insurance already admitted 100% liability and he was already dropped by a previous lawyer.
However today, I was contacted by my insurance and they received a letter from his second or maybe third lawyer. They made it seem as if there IS a chance that I could personally be affected and if the limit is reached, the rest would fall on me.
I had a witness for the accident as well and got their statement for my claim. I honestly don’t want him earning a single penny. It’s just annoying and frustrating how he can somehow be rewarded after causing an accident. He claimed I was speeding but also says he didn’t see me….
Insurance informed me of everything and doctors said he didn’t have any physical injuries and didn’t do any scans on him. Just going by word of mouth.
Edit: should I let my insurance handle it or should I do exactly what he’s doing as well?
