Tim Sorenson Joins Naf To Lead Lending, Recruiting In The Southwest

New American Funding (NAF) announced on Monday that it has named Tim Sorenson as its new divisional executive vice president for the Southwest — an area where the company is hoping to grow its retail lending presence.
Sorenson, who has more than two decades of mortgage lending experience, will be responsible for guiding loan officers across a broad geographic area encompassing Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Kansas, Nevada, Oklahoma, Utah, Wyoming and Southern California.
Sorenson will also focus on implementing recruiting initiatives. He’ll report directly to Tony Blodgett, NAF’s executive vice president of national sales for the West, a press release from NAF confirmed.
Tim Sorenson“Tim’s appointment is a significant step forward for New American Funding’s southwest division,” said Pat Bolan, NAF’s chief production officer. “His reputation for propelling businesses forward through innovative strategies and his ability to lead a high-performing team environment make him the ideal candidate to manage our expansion efforts in the southwest.”
Sorenson most recently served as divisional executive vice president for Rate, where he led retail operations across Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
Before his eight-year tenure at Rate, Sorenson was the director of residential lending at Lutheran Burbank Savings. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University at Fullerton.
“I’m excited to lead NAF’s talented southwest retail team as we work to drive sales growth while delivering an exceptional customer experience,” Sorenson said. “To achieve long-term success, I’ll focus on recruiting strategies that attract, retain, and develop top performers, ensuring that NAF is the first choice for the industry’s best talent.”
Monday’s news builds on NAF’s recent efforts to grow a strong retail presence and to spur housing market activity.
In July, the company promoted Blodgett to lead retail business for the western U.S. and Andy Pettola to lead retail for the eastern U.S. Later in the month, NAF announced a multimillion-dollar marketing campaign designed to “energize and empower” the next generation of first-time homebuyers.
