Cedarhurst announces first Iowa community 

Cedarhurst Senior Living recently announced its first Iowa community, introducing the Cedarhurst of North Liberty in North Liberty, Iowa, according to a news release.

The three-story, 139,000 square-foot community will include 65 independent living apartments, 47 assisted living apartments and 21 memory care apartments.

The community is set to open in the fall of 2027 and be designed to offer vibrant, supportive spaces capable of serving today’s senior living residents’ needs. Wellness amenities include a fitness center, yoga studio and programming to support resident health.

“We’re proud to introduce Cedarhurst to Iowa with the development of our first community in North Liberty,” said Nick Dwyer, Director of Development at Dover Development. “Expanding into our eighth state is a meaningful milestone, and North Liberty has been an outstanding partner throughout the process. We’re eager to bring exceptional senior living options to the families who call this area home.”

Senior Resource Group unveils new lodge residences in Arizona

Senior Resource Group (SRG) announced the release of its lodge residences at Maravilla Scottsdale that are now open for reservations, according to a news release.

This marks the final phase of development at the community and adds a mix of amenities including an outdoor, resort-style pool, the Fore Restaurant overlooking the nearby TPC Golf Course and an indoor golf simulator.

“We’re delighted to open reservations for the lodge residences and continue expanding Maravilla Scottsdale’s offerings,” said Michael Grust, founder and CEO at Senior Resource Group. “The incredible response to our first release of casitas has set the stage for another phase of high demand.”

LCS Development starts on life plan community expansion in South Carolina

Rolling Green Village, a senior living community in Greenville, South Carolina, recently started construction of an independent living expansion at the campus, according to a news release.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently for the expansion that will add 116 IL residences spanning apartment homes, cottages and hybrid-style carriage homes. As part of the expansion, it will also include a new assisted living neighborhood to improve the community’s overall continuum of care.

The project will add 68 apartment homes, 24 carriage homes and 24 cottages along with 32 assisted living residences, including two, 2-bedroom units.

Additional amenities include pickleball, bocce ball, outdoor kitchenette, new courtyards and improved walking trails.

Project partners include master planning and development by LCS Development, architecture and interiors by SFCS, general contracting by Clancy & Theys, investment advisory services by HJ Sims and management services and resident support by LCS Community Operations.

LCS Development starts two major expansions in North Carolina

LCS Development has started two major expansion projects at two North Carolina United Methodist Retirement Homes (UMRH) communities at Croasdaile Village in Durham and Wesley Pines in Lumberton, according to a news release.

UMRH is the third-largest senior living operator in North Carolina.

“Closing financing and breaking ground on these exciting projects is a testament to our shared commitment to enhancing the health, wellness and quality of life for these communities current and future residents,” said Dan Novelli, Director, LCS Development. “We are proud to bring our expertise to each of these incredible projects.”

At Croasdaile Village, the 100-acre campus will expand through a $82 million project to add 50 new independent living apartments, all of which are pre-sold, in a mix of cottage and hybrid home layouts.

Plans also include under-building parking, a fitness center expansion, staff break room enhancements and renovations to dining areas, along with new outdoor amenities.

The Wesley Pines project will convert semi-private health care rooms to private residences and add private suites to maintain census, while also adding a new therapy suite. An activity zone will also be created as part of the $11 million expansions project.

Partners for the projects include master planning and development by LCS Development, architecture by SFCS, general contracting by BLUM Construction, interior design by RDG Planning and Design, investment banking by Ziegler and hospitality design by SCOPOS.

AHEPA Senior Living opens new affordable community in Indiana

AHEPA Senior Living recently announced the opening of AHEPA 100 Phase II Apartments in South Bend, Indiana.

The 72-unit affordable senior housing community represents a $20.4 million development spanning three stories and 3.8-acres nearby other AHEPA 100 Phase I apartments.

The units are available for those 62 and older with income restrictions.

Each one-bedroom, one-bath apartment spans 680 to 703 square feet and includes a full kitchen with a full-size stove, refrigerator, and microwave, along with a walk-in shower, an emergency call system and strobe-light smoke detectors. All apartments are also cable- and broadband-ready and feature task lighting over all counter areas.

Medical Guardian completes senior living safety conversion in Philadelphia

Medical Guardian recently completed one of its largest senior living installations at Presbyterian Village Cobb in Austell, Georgia, according to a news release.

Completed in under four days, the tech installation spans across the 60-acre senior living campus and covers 150 apartments along with 57 independent living cottages and over 40 common areas. Outdoor parts of the campus are also covered as part of the safety upgrades.

The community is now equipped with fall detection software and wireless connectivity to help care teams respond to resident needs quickly.
