Fmls To Adopt New Rentspree Platform

First Multiple Listing Service (FMLS), the nation’s fifth-largest MLS, will be the first to adopt RentSpree’s new rental management system, the companies announced.

The platform — called RentEdge — is designed to integrate directly into MLS systems and give agents tools to handle rental transactions more effectively, from screening tenants to marketing listings.

“Rentals have become a vital part of the real estate market nationally,” says Jeremy Crawford, president and CEO of FMLS. “Many agents, brokers, and their client’s own investment property, and they need top-tier tools to analyze those rental units, market them, vet potential renters, and foster an ongoing relationship with current and past rental customers.”

Crawford said RentEdge will provide FMLS members with the same level of functionality typically available for for-sale listings.

Michael Lucarelli, RentSpree’s CEO and co-founder, says the partnership is aimed at making rentals a central part of MLS activity.

“FMLS is taking the lead in helping agents unlock the full potential of rentals through tools that are embedded, intuitive, and built for growth,” he says.

RentEdge is cloud-based and includes six modules:

• Screen, which lets agents initiate tenant screening and applications;
• Insights, which provides real-time rental data and market trends;
• Connect, which helps agents find new clients;
• Distribute, which expands listing exposure through RentSpree’s syndication network;
• Nurture, which offers automated engagement tools for past clients; and
• Academy, which gives agents access to training and resources.

Lauren Martin, RentSpree’s senior account director, said embedding these tools within the MLS system is key to adoption.
